two consistant weeklies:

death guild, the big goth/industrial club for SF. monday nights. upstairs after 12 bodyfour spins powernoise/newer hard stuff. looks like you've got a lot of lighter stuff and old school on your profile, so you might like the main floor too. 18+, $5.

adrenochrome, an effectively all-industrial-of-some-sort club in mountain view, about 30-40 minutes south of SF. much smaller, cheaper booze, good times. 21+, $4.


if you happen to be in town for them, i also highly recommend meat, neurogenesix/nero6, and die maschinen, which doesn't seem to have a reasonable website anywhere. shatter707, where is your website plz. all three of those are in SF proper.

UHM dunno if these clubs will be transpiring when you're here, but the best industrial/powernoise clubs are: Pandora's Box (monthly) Meat (Monthly, last thursday) Die Maschinen ( first friday last saturday) and Neurogenesix (random event)

*looks at eric/the above person's recommendations* I do not recommend Adrenochrome, it's a poor club to represent the SF/bay area scene, not to mention NO Powernoise and VERY LITTLE industrial that isn't EBM-city, and not to mention he is *TOTALLY* bias.

when have you even been to adrenochrome? have you seen any of their setlists for the last like six months? people keep complaining that there's TOO MUCH powernoise there. the format is practically IDENTICAL to neurogenesix, and/or presumably pandora's box, which i haven't been to yet, unfortunately.

on top of that, what do you mean by "EBM-city"? are they playing too much front 242 and borghesia or something? what are you suggesting that they play instead? on top of that, the original poster's interests include 242, funker vogt, e-craft, and suicide commando. i don't think he's gonna be complaining that there's too much EBM.


and as for my "bias," you could argue that i'm "biased" in favor of every goth/industrial club in the bay area. i mentioned every club that i go to in that list, and i'm reasonably close with the people who run every one of them. i'll presume you're talking about apex's involvement in adrenochrome here, but she's one of the promoters for neurogenesix and pandora's box as well! and deathguild is my booking agent, and baconmonkey/meat is my ex-roommate, yet you don't accuse me of bias towards any of those clubs!

i find your random attack on adrenochrome completely baffling, and i'm a bit offended that you think i'd feel the need to promote a club i'm not even working with under false pretenses because i'm involved with somebody who works there. dani really doesn't need my help to promote the club, and if i didn't like it independently, i wouldn't have mentioned it. i listed effectively every industrial club that's running in the bay area right now in that list (save dekonstrukt, now that i think about it, but they're really more of a special event than a club these days,) and i only left pandora's box off because i didn't think there was a date set for another event. well, that and i haven't been there yet and there's only been one so far. the only reason adrenochrome was listed above anything else is because, as i said, it's a weekly, which means that there's a significant chance that it will actually be occurring when the dude who posted originally is in town.


oh AND you follow this up by saying that blaugirl and bodyfour are good DJs to look out for, which i agree with, and mitch guests at adrenochrome once a month!! and you recommend him despite the fact that 50% of his sets are EBM, which you're complaining about at adrenochrome!

Try Spin This! at the rawhide (7th & Folsom) Saturday night 8/6 if you'll still be in town then. Lots of good dark electronic/powernoise type stuff.

NeuroGenesix plays the most powernoise of the local clubs.
